We are all getting very excited for the 2010 Daily Dare challenge. We are anticipating another year of grueling challenges, but amazing prizes too! TDN has been gearing up for months to bring back the #1 coverage you have come to love and expect. :graduated: We have already set the pages live so there are no surprises when the challenges begin. We have also set up a wonderful Daily Dare Forum for all Daily Dare discussion over the next month or so. We ask that you place all topics regarding the Daily Dare in that forum to keep things organized.

As you may have known, when we upgraded to the latest of Invision Power Board (which runs TDN Forums), the "old" RSS feeds stopped working (i.e. when we upgraded, the RSS feed URLs changed). If you are still subscribed to an old feed URL, it now works again -- we've created backwards compatibility between the old and new URLs.

Pick whichever URL you'd like -- they both work now. :D

Our Neopets Today feature (which is accessible via the front page of the main site) has gotten new look! Our old one was pretty outdated, but that's been fixed.

Since we upgraded forums on January 3, 2010 everyone has been seeing signature restrictions enforced by the system automatically. We have eliminated some of those automatic enforcements since they are not stated in our forum rules. We apologize for the mix up, and all forum rules can be found here.

Here are a few guidelines we would like all members to follow. For specific more wordy details please view our signature guidelines topic. :king:

Quote

  • Images in a signature may be no bigger than 500x250 pixels total. All images in your signature, with their dimensions totaled, should not exceed this figure.
  • Don't use HUGE fonts and UGLY colors
  • Signatures with more than 6 lines of text will be cleared
  • If you have adoptable eggs in your signature, a maximum of 5 adoptables are allowed on one line. That's it. We don't want to clutter the page with images either! Five adoptables, one line.


The forum system will automatically enforce the maximum image size limit and 6 total lines, so watch out! :P We hope everyone is enjoying the new forum look and feel as much as we are here at TDN.

The URLs for all of our RSS feeds have been updated since we have upgraded to the newest version of Invision Power Board. If you are using the old URL(s) to our feeds, you may want to consider adding the new feed's URL to your favorite RSS reader, seeing as the old feed URLs are now broken.

As you can imagine, this is a huge pain for all (particularly managing to notify everybody who has subscribed to our site). Right now we're currently working on a solution that will provide backwards compatibility with the old URLs, so that everybody wouldn't have to update their feed URL. However, we haven't found a solution yet, which is what we're currently working on. Eventually the old feed URLs will work, once we discover and implement a solution.

So, you can either:

  • Wait for us to fix the old URLs
  • Just subscribe to the new URL (because eventually EITHER ONE will work)

Ian here! As you may have noticed, our forums look radically different and have been upgrade to the latest version of Invision Power Board, which is the forum software that powers TDN Forums. If you find any bugs, please report them to me, Ian, and I will resolve them as quickly as possible. Eventually, we'll have a wide variety of new modifications and skins for all of our members to enjoy.
