Is it a bannable offence?

I believe that would be a bannable offence. Buying in-game currency with real money from unrelated websites has always been against the rules of any game I can think of. :eh:

Found this in one of the editorials:

Hello. I was wondering about certain websites that you can go to and buy Neopoints using real money. [Discusses the process more in-depth]. Is this against the rules? I would like to know because I might buy some and if my account gets frozen I'd be really, really upset. ~ferinthia

We cannot even begin to express how much against the rules this is. Anyone found to be buying or selling Neopoints for real money will have all their accounts frozen. We can assure you it is a spectacular waste of money as it will all be lost when your account is frozen. Also, keep in mind that this is more than likely "dirty money." The Neopoints you buy are the ones that have been stolen from your friends and other people trying to enjoy the game. Buying Neopoints hurts everyone, so please, just play fair.

Yeah, that is against the rules. As Xerophyte quoted, you WILL get frozen. If you're looking for some quick np though, try the Wheel of Slime (around 200np) , Fashion Fever (900np), Kass Basher (3k) and the sponsor games. Seriously, the sponser games are SOO easy and for some of the games, its an easy 3k. I can make around 10k a day from it!

As other people mentioned, it is a freezable offence.

There are so many easy ways to make Neopoints. Try KeyQuest or Habitarium. I make well over 50,000 NPs a day on Habitarium without doing much at all. Earning the Neopoints on your own is much more fun and will give you a feeling of accomplishment, unlike cheating.

yes ... that's the biggest offense in all of neopets offenses .. and besides , why would anyone want to pay money for something that doesn't exist ? in my opinion you're being scammed

Except for the fact that it's not allowed, buying NP isn't much different than buying NC. There are lots of people who'd be interested in buying NPs, which is why there are people selling it illegally.

In any case, yes, you risk getting banned if you do. Not recommended.
