What type of movies do you HATE

Yep, hate, not like!

I personally can't stand and always try to avoid these 2:

1. Drama. I really really hate open or sad endings, which are super common in drama movies. I also hate the tears and sad themes of these movies. For me, watching movies are a way to relax, but watching drama provokes me

2. Complicated plot. I also hate movies that 5 minutes after the ending, I still ask myself : "What the front did I just watched". For example, Inception. So confusing!

I dunno,

I don't really like boring movies that you spend the entire time trying to figure out the point of it or something but I don't really know what the genre of those films would be. Like they're supposed to be artistic or something but they end up just being confusing.

Gory films are pretty terrible too but I don't watch them at all really. Though it can be harder to avoid considering I enjoy good horror films!

I can't stand really gorrey horror movies. Some gore is ok but too much and I'm completely grossed out and freaked out.

Cheesy tween movies. I cannot stand these. Honestly how many Cinderella movies do we need? (An example)

Horror movies. People in them are just so dumb. "TURN THE LIGHT ON YOU IDIOT!!!!" :P

Also cringey comedy movies like Meet the Parents. The sort where people getting themselves into really embarrassing unrealistic situations is meant to be funny...

And old films like 2001 where it takes about half an hour for anything to happen :(

I can't say I hate any type of movies, I wouldn't sit and watch horror movies on my own accord, though :D Or romantic comedies, those are just identical, if you've watched one, you've watched them all. Same with most action movies, utterly boring. Unless they are based on comics, that's another story :D

I hate movies like "Not another teen movie" and "Vampires Suck". Apparently they're supposed to be funny, but I never get them. I'm not a huge fan of cliche romantic movies when you know exactly what is going to happen.

I pretty much agree with this. Movies that poke fun at other movies are doomed to fail. When you take the most ridiculous parts out other movies and re-do them, you aren't going to end up with a masterpiece. Of course I know that they aren't aiming for that, but you know what I mean. I can enjoy a romantic comedy, but there's a hierarchy within the genre and obviously they're not all good. We typically know where the plot is going, once we're introduced to the characters but that doesn't mean that there can't be surprises, funny dialogue or enjoyable moments. But this is not the type of movie I would pay to watch. I'd happily watch it if I caught it on TV, though - assuming it's not complete crap.

There's one genre that I will not watch, unless it has an actor I really like, and that is family friendly movies - I guess PG13. And practically any movie where a child has a prominent role. Unless the child is a very good actor. Otherwise they tend to be really obnoxious. No offence to any children here, I'm sure you're lovely :P

I usually dislike comedies. I am not a fan of the humour in them most of the time. I love horror films, but I'm sick of seeing women being raped and murdered in them all. I don't like westerns either. I find them boring, and I haaaaaaate seeing white people in bad makeup playing terrible caricatures of First Nations people.

I cannot stand comedy movies that mainly depend on "dirty humor". Yes, we get that some body parts are just hilarious when you're young but it gets old really fast :/

I also don't like certain horror movies that aren't scary...just gross like the Human Centipede :sick01:

Other than that, I love me some horror, drama (I like to cry), cartoon, musical, mystery, black and white, and more :laughingsmiley:

I've never been a fan of most animated movies. Even when I was a kid, I preferred things with real people/animals in them to cartoons. I'll still watch them if there's absolutely nothing else on, if I'm babysitting or if I don't have to pay, but they're my last choice when it comes to something to watch. I'll pretty much watch everything, though Horror and Rom-Coms are my favourite (weird combination, I know xD).

Well, I'd like to point out there is a big difference between a parody and...those...movies. If you can call them that.

True Lies and Galaxy Quest are both good parodies.

The Scary Movie series, Not Another Teen Movie, and Vampires Suck are just a series of "Hey, look at that stupid thing from that one thing. Now laugh."

I tend to dislike movies (or anything with a plot) where the whole plot is "They love each other! But something stupid is keeping them apart! Will they ever get together and live happily ever after?!*SUSPENSE*", but you know they will and everything will be sunshine and rainbows forever and ever after.

Drama-only movies are really boring, I also dislike historical movies.

I actually have the worst/dirtiest humour ever, so I love ever movie parody. Except Spanish Movie, this movie was so bad. -___-

Romantic-only movies are also boring, but I really like romantic comedies. I literally like every comedy movie.

Horror movies are a huge no-go for me. xD

Not a huge fan of horror movies, more because of the characters and plots they tend to contain rather than the scare factor.

Another one is some psychological thrillers. I don't mind watching them, but I think there are many movies that would have had so much more potential had they not thrown Multiple Personality Disorder into the mix. It's overused and I don't think it's a satisfying "twist."

As Rebecca said Westerns are boring and filled with inane white people and racial stereotypes.

I can't stand awkward humor. Sometimes if it's done right it will make me laugh but basically anything Ben Stiller is in I write off as a bad movie. Unless it's Zoolander. I freaking love Zoolander.

I CANNOT stand all action movies. There has to be some plot or rhyme or reason behind the movie rather than the producer having a ridiculous budget for explosions and hot women plastered on something fast. I will be bored and fidgety and start to want out immediately.

I don't mind psychological thrillers, but I generally check out of gory slasher movies. Especially with anything of rape or torture. I'm like kthxl8rbai.

What?!!!! *gasps* I had no idea so many people didn't like horror movies. I am a huge horror movie junkie, especially when they have a good plot. I don't ever watch them alone though, because I'm too big a scaredy cat. It's a great 'date-night' movie for me and my boyfriend though. :P

I also love love love drama movies. Drama/Comedy is probably my favorite genre, with horror being a close second.

As far as movies I don't like.... I CANNOT stand the Twilight movies. I have no idea what the hype is for because those movies are terrible. Terrible acting, plot-line, visuals, everything! There are also a lot of comedy movies that people make a huge hype over how great it is. I get all excited thinking I have to see it, but I always end up disappointed. Examples would be; Superbad, The Hangover, and most recently... TED. They were no where near as good as people said they were IMO. I'm also not a huge fan of action movies like the fast and the furious. Although it really depends, I loved Wanted and Ironman. :)

I also really hate it when I pick out a horror film expecting it to be good and it ends up really super cheesy. They have a lot of those. I steer clear of any movies that don't have well-known actors/actresses in them now.

Hmm can't pick a type i'd really hate, just really STUPID movies... But i dont watch movies with jennifer aniston... a few other actors/actresses in them.....

Usually I am the same way. Jennifer Aniston is not a good actress at all. The only movie I liked her in was 'The Switch'. I found it hilarious... though, I don't think that was really any of her doing. She just happened to be in it. :P
