A Decent Weekend For Once

Man, this weekend has been long! Maybe it's because it IS a long weekend, but it was actually decent for once.

Friday, my bro didn't go to school because he didn't feel well. I have to give the kid credit, He was lucky to even still go to school this year after all his absences last year (even the ones with notes) and so he said he wasn't going to mess it up. He has gone for the last 2 weeks since school started back, but then he felt unwell, so he stayed out.

I finally got him to eat something around noon. He said he would go with me to Dot's (the soup kitchen I frequent to help with the elderlies who eat there, sometimes I stay for lunch too). The board of directors, aka the boss Keith, was there cooking. They were having a fish fry today. Catfish (and I'm talking actually fresh caught fish, bones, tails, and all) or fillets, baked beans, fries, hushpuppies (cornmeal balls), macaroni salad, regular salad, and cake, with organic chocolate milk or tea to drink.

I got talked into eating lunch with some elderly gentlemen. One of them was celebrating his 80th birthday! Made it back home some time later and spent the evening with some friends, and then with my Sydney and Sherbert.

Yesterday evening, my brother was feeling better, so he took me out to dinner. We went to a pizza buffet place. I could live off of their cheesesticks and sweet Georgia brown dessert pizza. The two of us plus another friend ate together and watched a football game (even though I am not a sports fan at all), my sister and nephew was actually there at that game in person, while we watched the game on ESPN on tv. Our team (University of Georgia Bulldogs) stomped the Clemson Tigers 45-21. One of the Georgia players had an INCREDIBLE run, scoring a touchdown after running a full 100 yards!

Today, my brother took me to donate blood. I decided to do it because I haven't done it in a while, so I did that. (I was blessed with AMAZING veins). I was done in about 15-20 minutes. It takes some people an hour in there, but not me! I got a gift card for donating, which was unexpected, and since my brother was starving (or so he claimed) and since I was told to eat a large meal after donating, I decided to use my gift card to buy us dinner. (I ate some delicious General Tso's chicken with potato wedges and mac n' cheese. My bro had bbq chicken with mac and jalapeno poppers. It was a good dinner!) I had enough money left on my gift card to treat my babies. It took them 5 minutes flat to destroy the can of Friskies I bought them, even though it's not Friskies Friday today... I still decided to treat my babies.

There was a man that started talking to us while we were eating dinner. He wore a backpack and a helmet and was an old guy clearly on something. He ranted about George W. Bush, the White House, hydrogen bombs and Vietnam out of random after he noshed on four cheeseburgers in about 5 minutes. (Wow, do people eat fast!) Anyway, it was a definite what the heck moment. It gave us a laugh.

Now, I'm at home, just chilling while my bro and his friend play guitar. Syd's beside me purring of course. Tomorrow is a national holiday (Labor Day) so there is no school and many buildings will be closed. I'm going to try to convince my bro to take us swimming tomorrow. Tuesday and Wednesday, I have errands to run. The public library is doing some kind of apple history thing on Tuesday that I will try to attend. There will be apple pie, apple cider, and candy apples, so that's cool. Friday and Saturday mark the end of the annual apple festival that my town is famous for. Food vendors, live music, and little trinkets will be sold, and there will be a big parade on Friday. I might take Sydney again this year. She got a lot of attention at the parade last year.

I'm excited for this week. Usually I am stuck the house all the time, but now I am actually looking forward to something. It's not often that I get a decent weekend or time with my brother as everyone else is generally more important than me, and even though the weekend nor the house is perfect at the moment, I'll take what I can get.

For now, I will pet my kitty and drink my fifth glass of water (I was told to down fluids like a mad woman for the next day or so) and watch some good tv.

How was everyone's weekend so far? :)

EDIT: BONUS! Photos of my babies for you!

Aww, thanks ya'll! The kitties say thank you for saying they're cute! Right now they're destroying the house, wrestling each other.

CorrineLora, did you dance any at the wedding? I've never been to a wedding before!

Ayanami-chan, you must be a great WoW player! I've never played before. I'm so lame! Haha. What kind of character do you have?

Glad you both are having a good weekend too!

I couldn't see the first link, but I saw your roster! That's a LOT of characters! You must be a really, really good player. I don't really understand how to play, lol. The worst I play is this DragonFable RPG, but I've not played it in a long time.

Yeah 33 characters is a lot now that I think about it (2 aren't in that guild)... And that's just on that realm o.o

Yay for fun weekends! I'm graduating in two weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to take a weekend off :3

Glad you got to have fun with your brother, he seems like a good kid. Your cats are so cute! I have a pair that grew up together from kittenhood. They just hiss at each other now :(

They're super cute though!

Lizzy, your kitties are Snuggadorable (my word! I called it xP [patent pending])!!

Haha, better to have no life than no brain! Or something like that. Have you ever considered being a gamer full time? Like as a job? :)

I would definitely consider it, but you need to have good PC specs for that. My PC at the moment needs a new processor/CPU

I play the Sims 3 and my CPU usage it at 100% the whole time, it does it with WoW too, but it fluctuates at least between 85%-100% Running Siege of Orgrimmar 25 man on Heroic (current end game tier/raid) I can barely move at some points during and being a healer, that's pretty bad. (sorry for the WoW speak <.< I know you don't play it anymore)

Although there are some game I just can not play. Fist person shooters make me nauseas and the way my migraines are headed, I'm not even sure if I can play WoW like I usually do anymore.

Aww, your cats are adorable too! Congrats on your upcoming graduation! My 10 year reunion is next year. I miss school!

Thanks hon <3

My username is actually their names. Jane (the black one) was purring and scratching herself on my laptop, so I guess that means 'thankyou' :P

Squee, I'm definitely using that one! (With all royalties to you, of course.)

I had to stop playing sims 2 on my old pc because it was just too much for the ram to handle. I even tried putting in extra ram but the computer was so old, it was incompatible D:

I decided to wait until sims 4 came out before restocking. I have all the expansion packs for 2, so it'll be hard to let go.

I know what you mean about first person shooters. My friend tried to get me into COD and it wasn't so much the nausea as the fact that I sucked. I mostly just hid in the corner and shot people who went past. I don't have much experience with WOW, but it seems more my thing. Pretty cool!

Aww, you're welcome! I think a gamer job would be good for you, my friend! They have a university here in the States, I think it's in Florida? Anyway it's called Full Sail and they have courses that teach you animation and game design, and so people in those areas of expertise are always looking for testers for their prototypes. I hear game testers make decent dough. I thought about going to Full Sail at one point in my life. It was a shot in the dark though.

I believe Danny Elfman went to Full Sail. You may be familiar with his work as he created and composed the title theme for The Simpsons, the 1989 Batman theme, and he composed tracks for Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas (he was also Jack the pumpkin King's singing voice!) as well as other Tim Burton movies. Danny was also in Oingo Boingo, a band from the 70s. Some of his latest works were the score for Corpse Bride, music for Cirque du Soleil, and the 2013 film "Oz: the Great and Powerful."

Finding work like game testing and such in the area where you are might be worth looking into though. There's game creators all over the country (and the world for that matter!) looking for different demographics to test their game projects! I am not sure if I could be a game tester myself. I love fighting games and adventure/horror RPG, that's about it. I can't play shooter games or military games that well, heh.
