Pile of Soot?

Does anyone know if it's still possible to attach a petpetpet if the petpet that you intend to attach it to has been turned into a pile of soot by the lab ray?

I'm tempted to assume that, yes, it's still possible but I don't really want to spend any neopoints on a  petpetpet until I know for sure. Thank you in advance! uvu

Since a Pile of Soot is considered a type of petpet, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. The only problem is that if you plan to continue zapping the petpet with a petpetpet attached, you run the risk of losing both if it explodes.

I knew petpets could turn into piles of soot, but I didn't know they could explode! I don't know that much about the petpet lab ray because I only zapped one once to turn it to a pile of soot so I could get the avatar, but it was not my permanent. I just know you can't get the trophy for a specific species and color pepet if you've zapped it, though I've never won one anyway  :glasses:

It is possible! I did a quick google search for the text string it would create and found a number of examples of Piles of Soot with petpetpets. Though as stebenjos pointed out, if you plan to zap the petpet again and it explodes the petpetpet will vanish as well.

For the curious, petpets with petpetpets are noted as "NAME the PETPET SPECIES and its PETPETPET SPECIES" on profiles. So I searched for "the pile of soot and its".
