Old to Neopets, New to TDN!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I've had an account with Neopets for 12 years now with several long hiatuses. I'm 21 and I'm slowly becoming a Neo addict once more  However, I'm kind of slow at racking up NP...any advice?

What's been really helpful for me is

  • fighting in the 1 player battledome and selling the fairies and codestones
  • playing easy games like whirlpool, hasee jump, spell seeker etc. for the 1k
  • investing in the stock market

In fact, I joined TDN forums because I spent so much time pouring over those articles and old threads in this forum trying to build up some neopoints. Your look up is super pretty!

Thank you for the compliment on my lookup! I've tinkered with it a bit but I got the original code from Silent Serenity. They have beautiful lookups and gallery layouts.

I've never been good at fighting in the battledome because my pets don't have high hit points and I'm not sure how to get those higher  without having to spend a lot on codestones in the first place. I recently started messing around with the Food Club but so far I have yet to see any real profit. Has the stock market been successful for you?

I'm in the same boat here  :laughingsmiley: Just restarted a couple months back.

TDN has some great game recommendations for 1k games, my favourite is Maths Nightmare (3k in <5min!!!)

Also, I'm training my pets in the Swashbuckling Academy. It's slower but the price of doubloons has dropped so much since my last hiatus

Stocks are pretty lucrative if you have patience. Invested in one a 4 years back, came back to find it has increase 1000%. WOW!!

Welcome back!

Welcome to TDN! Yes, Neopets is a game you can take a break from, and find new content just about whenever you decide to return. I've done the same, taking sometimes very long breaks from the game in the past. lol

I'm afraid as far as making NP goes, I just play games and battle. So my NP-making is relatively slow. One method for free NP is to play Trudy's Surprise every day. http://thedailyneopets.com/articles/trudys-surpriseAlso, once in awhile you can get something worth selling from various Battledome opponents ;) And speaking of battle, if you have questions about battling, we do have a battledome forum too. And lots of friendly and helpful members (including staff) that can answer pretty much any questions. lol ;)

I hope you enjoy your time with TDN! :D

Thanks, everyone, for all the encouraging words and the warm welcome. I'll have to post some questions in the Battledome forum because I've never been good with it in general. Thank you for all of the tips!

Another option is Ghoul Catchers. There is an app for iOS and Android, and you can play via Facebook. You can earn up to 50K NP a day. I just play level 1 over and over (and over), until I reach the limit. Ghoul Catchers (daily) reset is at 4pm NST. Between it and Trudy's Surprise, you can earn NP at a decent rate. Some have had problems/issues with getting it to work, though. Kass Basher is back to a "respectable" point-to-NP ratio, so you can make 3K a day, if you are good at it. Cap'n Threelegs' Swashbuckling Academy, mentioned by phoenixgal, is good for training low level pets. Dubloons can be given through dailies like Coltzan's Shrine and Anchor Management. If you need pieces for the Forgotten Shore map, I have plenty. You can win NP from it and prizes you can sell in your shop.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't know about the Ghoul Catchers app...is it free?

Yes, it is free. You can purchase in-app power ups, but you do not have to. Available via Google Play (on Android device), Apple "Apps" Store (via iOS - iPhone or iPad), and possibly Amazon App Store. If you play on Facebook, it requires the Unity 3D Player, which it will ask you to download. Unfortunately, if Chrome is your "main" browser, Chrome stopped supporting many plugins, including Unity 3D Player, so you will not be able to play it with Chrome.
