Weapon pairing advice needed!

Hey guys,

Need your expert opinions on putting together my BD set.

Am currently using:

1. SuAP

2. 50hp constant healer

3. 50% freezer

4. Hanso Charisma Charm

5. U-bend of Great Justice

6. Downsize

7. G-bomb

8. Rusty Pitchfork

I am thinking of getting either 1) another SuAP or 2) I-staff or 3) Faerie Slingshot (I've not enough nps to get a WoDF :/ )

Appreciate if anyone can help with some advice. Cheers!

Hi Aquamentis,

Thanks for the reply! I am thinking of doing away with the rusty pitchfork. I don't have any full blocking shields at this moment apart from Downsize, as I'm trying out the reflector method.

In addition I'm thinking of upgrading my healer as 50hp once per battle is certainly not sufficient for my pet in the near future (I'm putting my pet on intensive training).

As for freezer I'm thinking of upgrading to a 100% one too but that will come a little later (perhaps in the form of H4000 helmet or Freezing potion.

My pet's stats are presently as such:

Strength: 94

Defence: 8 (it's very low :X)

Movement: 44

HP: 85

About equipping 2 peas, on a side note, I'm not too sure if most battledomers out there possess full blockers or reflectors like Ultra Dual Shovels to fully resist their combined attacking power. Then again, I might be wrong :)

Regarding I-staff and WoDF, could you explain to me where and how the staff beats the wand? I've read about the abilities of both weapons but have not used either one before. The only thing I know as of now is that the wand has stronger offense and healing powers, perhaps if you could be kind to give a quick comparison on the above 3 options (or others if you think of any) based on different scenarios I would have a clearer picture :)

Cheers!

Ok, so yeah, If you're going the Reflector route, Rusty Pitchfork is your weakest weapon. I personally like the reflectors. I would LOVE a Prismatic Mirror, but sadly that is never to be. ;) Anyhoo, I did a lot of budget and under-level battling using the 50% reflectors. Mostly cheap, but fairly effective, even though they will eventually break forever, with the exception of the Expert Lens for Light. Expert Lens is also much cheaper than the Dual Battle Mirror which will eventually break. ;)

Keeping Downsize! would be a good move, especially for the time-being while you're boosting your pet's stats.

*nods* The Rejuvenating Jar of Brains would be the next step, but as it only heals 60hp once per battle. You should look into something like a Bag of Healing Dust, it's a 50% healer that any pet can use. But it's probably around 10-12mil. Maybe less since there isn't a war plot going on. It's been ages since I last checked on the prices. Of course if you have a species of pet that has a 50% healing item, such as a Gelert or Lenny, I'd recommend that kind of healer because they're usually cheaper. Although, if you zap your pet, the bag of healing dust would work regardless of species, so it's entirely up to how you wanna play it.

And a 100% is also a good idea. If you don't want the H4000 Helmet, there are a few other non-species freezers, Like the Magical Marbles of Mystery in the Hidden Tower. Again, if you have a pet of a certain species that has a 50% freezer and will not be zapping that pet, go for the species only for the price. ;)

Wow, a pet with stats at that level, but with a set that would make many battlers drool. lol Training will definitely help! My best constant weapon is a Stone Foam Finger. 15 icons and at the max boost does a decent 240 damage, if nothing is blocked. I've had it since a few days after it was released. And I've watched the damage it can inflict go up and up as I trained my pet. Training is really imho a more effective way to get the best use out of the beginner, intermediate and advanced weapons. If I had a SuaP, I'd do a far greater amount of damage that your pet currently can. In other words, training is the best way to bring out the potential of any weapon. :)

So it's a great thing that you're training! :) Come the next war, you'll be hard for the opponents to stop. ;) Especially if you have Lens Flare (level 50 faerie ability) and a 100% freezer. I mean 2 free turns with using a SuaP both turns would be an insane amount of damage! :D

Well, i don't know about 2p, because I don't play 2p most of the time. But in 1p battling, the only thing you'd have to really worry about with 2 SuaPs would be 1p opponents with the Faerie Ability, Reflect, and the defensive item, Prismatic Mirror. A shame we can't use the Prismatic Mirror... well, it CAN be stolen and then used. I did that against Envy during the end of the Obelisk War. It was FUN! ;)

Regarding Illusens Staff and Wand of the Dark Faerie.

I've never used them either, so I can only go by the listed abilities of each. I think you're right, in that depending on the opponent and/or situation, the I-staff might be more useful. You're right about the raw power and healing, The Wand does it better there, and it reflects 75% of Light. Where I think the Staff doesn't get enough love, is where it says that it blocks and reflects dark icons as light. So this would actually be a decent weapon to use against a Wand of the Dark Faerie. I also think the Staff doesn't have quite as high of a rating because Earth and Physical icons are very easily blocked. Even another item from Illusen's quests can take a chunk out of it, of course I mean her green Leaf Shield, from quest #29.

It's really up to you and your budget. But I'd say the Staff would be pretty cool to have if you can't get a Wand yet. And the Staff shouldn't go down in value very much, so you might be able to someday trade or sell the Staff and then have enough to buy the Wand from someone. OR you could buy a TON of r99s and try getting one from the quests. LOL It can be quite thrilling. When I first started playing I managed to get a Honey Potion from Illusen. I never got that far again though. I know Honey Potions are not worth much anymore, but it IS fun if you can complete the quests and earn the item of your desire. ;) And with Jhudora's quests, I believe she's got some higher end items that can be sold for a nice bit of NP. Even though her quests are typically harder than Illusen's.

Well, I hope this answers all your questions. If you've got more feel free to ask. :)

Happy battling!
