Hello Altador Cup fans! This is Mouseykins for The Daily Neopets here with your round 5 report. Apologies for the delay, we were experiencing some technical difficulties. In the studio we ended up losing all power and it took several days to find the cause. By the time we found where we suspect a Meepit was chewing on the power cables round 5 was over. Those pesky little Meepits may be cute, but they sure can be destructive. Next year I'll be sure to have a pile of food waiting for them, so we can hopefully avoid this mess.

Alabriss Bracket

Island SweepLet's start off with the results for the Alabriss Bracket and this round was an entertaining one and did not disappoint. As this is a finals round, the top six teams have been placed together to battle it out. Our top teams this year are Brightvale, Faerieland, Kiko Lake, Krawk Island, Mystery Island and Tyrannia. In the first match of the round Kiko Lake took on Faerieland with each team taking two wins. The Kiko's snagged Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, allowing the Faerie's to score wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Tyrannia and Mystery Island faced off, resulting in a full on sweep by the Natives. Brightvale and Krawk Island dueled with the Pirates looting wins in all three side games.

Our second match of the round looked very much like the first. Mystery Island was up against the fearless Faerie's and were not able to sweep them. Faerieland has been consistently strong this year and are not going down without a fight. The Natives took victory in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, leaving the Faeries to take home Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Tyrannia stomped Brightvale off the grounds with a sweep! Krawk Island was paired with Kiko Lake and were only able to commandeer a win in Shootout Showdown. This left the Kikos to splash away with Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Knockout!During the third match of the round we seen a few surprises. First off, Faerieland knocked Brightvale off the court with a full sweep. With Krawk Island up against Tyrannian, many thought Tyrannia could earn themselves another sweep. Krawk Island was happy to disappoint as they obtained victory in Make Some Noise. The Kikos and Natives faced off, resulting in Kiko Lake stealing Slushie Slinger. That left Mystery Island to be victorious in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.

Inside the second last match of the round there were more shakeups. Faerieland saw themselves earn a 3-game win over Krawk Island. The Faerie's triumphed in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. They were gracious enough to leave Make Some Noise for the Pirates. Next up, the Fossils and Kiko's entered battle with Kiko Lake taking Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Fossils were quite shaken over only managing to grab Slushie Slinger. In the final pairing for this match had power-house's Mystery Island and Brightvale duelling. Natives stood strong in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, leaving Slushie Slinger to the Wizards.

Victorious! Finally the last match of the bracket determines everyone's fate. Up first was Tyrannia and Faerieland. The Fossils shattered Faerieland in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Hoping for a better finale, the Faerie's were rather disheartened over their 1-game win in Slushie Slinger. Our two Island teams each scored a win in two games. Krawk Island walked away with Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, while Mystery Island took over Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The last match in this bracket saw Kiko Lake sweeping Brightvale out of the water. This bracket was a delight to watch and be a part of as the results unfolded.

Minitheus Bracket

Continuing with the Minitheus Bracket we have our middle teams, many of which have been strong since the beginning. Featured in this bracket we have Altador, Darigan Citadel, Lost Desert, Maraqua, Meridell and Shenkuu. The first match held two sweeps! Altador Suns swept the Lost Desert Mummies straight out of the sky. In the second sweep, Darigan Citadel sank Maraqua. Our last pairing had Meridell rise with victories in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Ninja’s used their skills to secure a win in Make Some Noise.

Holding StrongAlmost identical results occurred in the second match. This time Meridell gladly swept Lost Desert and Shenkuu triumphed over Maraqua with a sweep of their own. Instead of having 3-1 results, Altador and Darigan Citadel walked away with two wins each. Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown went to the Sun's, leaving the Minions to snag Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Day three for this bracket had different results than the previous two pairings. Meridell was against Altador and they didn't give the Suns an easy day. With a win in only Make Some Noise for the Suns, the Knights held strong in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. In the only sweep for the day, the Minions were able to overtake the Ninja's. Maraquan Mermaids were quite unsuccessful against the Lost Desert Mummies, as they only achieved a win in Make Some Noise. This left the door open for the Mummies to be victorious in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.

Interesting ResultsOn the fourth day the outcome was similar to the first two matches of the round. Gaining some lost ground, Altador swept Maraqua drying them out. Also advancing over lost turf was Shenkuu, who collected a sweep from Lost Desert. Meridell almost secured a sweep, but Darigan Citadel would not let them have it. Being long-time rivals, this match was no different. The Knights retrieved wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. This only left Make Some Noise for Darigan Citadel.

Very different results were acquired in the final match of round 5 for this bracket. Our first pairing had Meridell against Maraqua. Once again the Knights were denied a sweep earning themselves a win in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Much to their dismay the Mermaids only grabbed Make Some Noise. Secondly a very close match between Altador and Shenkuu, each earning two wins. Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown went to the Suns, which left the Ninja's with Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. In the final pairing, both Lost Desert and Darigan Citadel fought hard, each with two victories. The Mummies brought home victory in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. This left the other two side games of Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise to the Minions.

Snack Time! Now I would like to thank you all for your patience as I deliver this report. There is a lot to get through, but I promise we are almost finished. If you'll excuse me for a few minutes, it's time for a short intermission. During this time please enjoy some of our highlights we've recorded throughout the tournament. We will return in ten minutes.

As Mouseykins exits, the camera feed switches over to the archived footage. Ten minutes later Mouseykins returns to find the monitors flickering.

Meepits!Oh, no not again! These silly Meepits need to find another hobby. Someone please put out some food for these little critters so I can complete my report.

One of the technicians sets out some food and repairs the flickering monitors before giving Mouseykins the all clear.

Vaeolus Bracket

Well that was interesting, sorry about that! We shall continue with the results from the Vaeolus Bracket. Sadly this bracket holds the bottom teams of the Altador Cup this year. Including haunted Woods, Kreludor, Moltara, Roo Island, Terror Mountain and Virtupets. To start things off we have Kreludor and Moltara. The Moons have had quite the fall from grace this year. During this match Kreludor only won Slushie Slinger, allowing Moltara to scorch them in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. We had the Chillers facing off with the Rooligans and only scored a victory in the main event, leaving all three side games to Roo Island. Virtupets did not surprise us by almost sweeping Haunted Woods. Not giving up without a fight, the Zombies snuck away with a win in Shootout Showdown. With only a small margin of victory, the Robots rolled away with Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Small SuccessAnother match showing different results. Beginning with Terror Mountain against Kreludor, each earning themselves two victories. The Chillers iced the Moons in yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, with the Moons floating away with Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. In this next pairing, the Robots once again achieved three wins. This time they were dueling with the Rooligans. Virtupets flew off with Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, leaving Slushie Slinger to Roo Island. Gaining some ground against Moltara, Haunted Woods almost snuck in a sweep. Moltara proved to be a worthy opponent in Yooyuball with all three side games left to the Zombies.

In the third match of the bracket we had a similar ending. Firstly, Kreludor and Roo Island dueled it out, each winning two games. Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown went to the Moons, while Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise belonged to the Rooligans. Taking Yooyuball, Moltara left the side games to Virtupets. So far the Robots seem to be making up for their losses. Terror Mountain slid off with a 3-game victory in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, humbly allowing Haunted Woods to take Make Some Noise.

A Sweep! This match contains the first sweep of the round for this bracket! The Terror Mountain Chillers extinguished the flames of the Moltara Magmas with a much needed sweep. Two sweeps almost occurred in the other two matches of the day. Taking on Virtupets, Kreludor soared away with the side games, while Virtupets had a hold of Yooyuball. In the final pairing Roo Island only allowed Haunted Woods to take Shootout Showdown, granting the Rooligans the fun of dancing away with Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Here we are, the final match of the round! Haunted Woods were up against Kreludor for their last match and they did not go down without a fight. They were victorious in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Moons were under the impression that this matchup would be a cakewalk. They were wrong! Kreludor, however did manage to score a victory in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Our final sweep of the event was Roo Island washing out moltara. In the last pairing of Virtupets with Terror Mountain, each team took two wins. Robots were victorious in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Leaving Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown to be taken by the Chillers.
