Couple questions

I have a couple questions.

-First can someone please explain to me very simply how the I-staff effect works? Like if I receive both light and dark, will it block both? On the battlepedia it says you will take both icons and you will receive 25% of dark. But isn't dark fully blocked by the I-staff's initial effect? So wouldn't that mean I will take 0 dark damage? Also if you receive 100% of light does that mean I will actually take light damage while at the same time reflecting back 75% of it or does it mean it will just reflect back 75% and you will take 25%?

-Second I need to find 1 replacement constant damage item for my set. Currently I have a SuAP but ever since the dupe fiasco, they are too expected in 2p battles and I rather not carry one, although they still have the highest constant number of icons and the combination type is good as well, so its difficult to find something that can replace a SuAP and be just as good. I need something that will match it in combination of icons or other effects. I already have a I-staff and WoDF so there's not much else I can look into getting as I am in a very high tier in terms of battling and weapon options are limited. The only two items I could think of are Grapes of Wrath or Skarl's Sword. Although GoW is too similar to SuAP and only just replaces the air with fire while reducing the icons so that isn't really a good option. The Skarl's Sword seems really good except that it gets trumped by I-staff/WoDF easily and those items are common in my tier/league. So what should I replace it with? Keep in mind I'm going for 2p battling.

Any help is appreciated.

Ah man I should have tested it when I got one after questing a few weeks ago.

I believe the assessment is like this,

You take both 10 dark, and 10 light

First of all, it turns all icons into Dark

So now you have 20 Dark Icons, this makes it easier to calculate

NOW 25% of those light icons, are unblocked damage, so... 2.5 icons are NOT blocked, and are unblocked dark icons, since the calculation is AFTER blocking, so first, you blocked the dark, then you reflected transitioned light into dark icons, you are hit with only 2.5 icons total, out of the 20 icons.

Edit: Also you'd be reflecting 7.5 Icons as well, so you'd be doing a little more damage if you know they are going to be using light icons.

It's either that, or 5 icons through, I could be wrong but I think it's the first.

Uhhh...I'm a bit confused. Wouldn't it convert the light icons to dark AFTER I block the initial 10 dark icons?

For example lets say:

1st step - I take 10 dark icons and 10 light icons of damage (20 icons total of damage received)

2nd step - the 10 dark icons are blocked (10 blocked total and 10 still remaining)

3rd step - Since the 10 dark icons were blocked, the remaining 10 light icons make a copy of itself into dark so now there are 20 icons total again, 10 light icons and 10 icons copied as dark (20 icons still remaining)

4th step - Of the newly totaled 20 icons, I take 10 icons of light of damage and 2.5 of the copied dark for a total of 12.5 damage and the other 7.5 is reflected (12.5 icons of damage received total)

So essentially after all the damage calculations are done when both light and dark is received, I take a total of 12.5 icons of the 20. (12.5/20 damage received total)

I see so basically I will take a 125% damage from the light icons.

Item combinations like Skarl's Sword/SuAP or Skarl's Sword/WoDF or Skarl's Sword/GoW seem to be the only realistic scenarios where I-staff's effect would be activated and taken into a decisive battle.

Btw any idea on a replacement for SuAP?
