I've been published a few times now, hoping to get 10 publications for the avatar within the year! I've never had a submission rejected, although I have had one held for several issues before it was published. They accept all types of articles - listicles, quizzes, column-styles, reports, opinion pieces, just about anything. I'm not sure about getting stories published, but I believe it's easiest to get one published when there aren't too many active series. It's a little harder to get published now, because the NT doesn't seem to come out consistently anymore, but don't let that discourage you! The plus there is that it doesn't seem to matter anymore when you submit, as all submissions appear to be considered at one time rather than singularly as they roll in. When you have an article idea, search up the keywords relating to it in the Neopian Times search box. Make sure your article hasn't already been written! They aren't likely to publish an article on a specific topic that's already been written about, unless lots has changed since the previous article was published. Ensure your article is written in the tone of Neopets culture. Articles shouldn't talk about Neopets as though it's an online game, but rather as though you are a citizen of Neopia, caring for your pets within that world, culture and lore. Pay attention to your tone. Read out loud what you've written - if it feels awkward, it probably is. Try to write the words you would speak out loud if you were explaining your topic to someone verbally. Proper grammar and spelling are a must. Run your article through an error catcher, or if you're hearing, try listening to it through Google translate by copying and pasting it into the translation box and hitting the speaker - I'm deaf, but I've been told a lot of hearing people find this to be a great way to notice their errors. I hope this helps!

Nope, this bug has happened to a lot of people. I've had it twice. You didn't receive a stat boost, when this happens your reward is stolen by the glitch and it's as if you never completed the quest. Consider sending in a ticket!

What do you do for living and what is your dream job?

I work as a unit aide on the pediatric intensive care unit of a major children's hospital. A unit aide does all the things that you don't think about being done in the hospital - mainly ordering and stocking supplies and reprocessing rooms and equipment between patients; but also assisting with minor patient care tasks, bagging and removing laundry, preparing kits and stocking carts for procedures and emergencies, setting up spaces for procedures and circumstances such as infection isolation, ensuring clean laundry is folded and sufficiently stocked in the right places, general tidying up of the unit, retrieving and borrowing equipment and supplies when it's needed, organizing and maintaining family lounges and fridges, and generally just doing all of the small tasks that need to be done such as fetching water for a patient, setting up an iPad for a child to play on, bringing an extra pillow ... I'm lucky enough that I'm working my dream job now. I didn't have to go to school, and I love what I do! The only thing I would change is to add more hours, my position is 40% (1-2 12 shifts per week) and I'm hoping for the full time (3-4 12 hour shifts per week) so I can live comfortably. -

Same happened to me one of the times I used Spiked - the second time, my level went up. First time, no difference ... but it does say it can affect intelligence, and I don't really pay attention to that, so I assumed that was the stat that went up.

Honestly, this is one of the last straws for me. TNT can't seem to create a decent event without major bugs, they can't put out a simple newsletter once a week, they can't communicate with us at all anymore. They seem to want to punish us with each event - harder and harder with less reward, telling us we should've done this and that differently, like a bad boss who's bitter and doesn't give enough feedback. The NT not being out AGAIN this week is making me seriously consider leaving. It did change my mind about going premium, which I was intending to do Friday on my payday. I'd like to say there should be a Neopian Times next week, but TNT has shown us that they will not meet our basic expectations time and time again. I would say there's definitely still a chance that your article will be published, but I would prepare for the possibility that it won't be.
