I think everyone gave some pretty good answers, but this topic reminded me of a funny superstitious-type thing we have in Brazil that I wanted to share: when you have unwanted guests in your house or if guests are staying for too long, take a broom and put it upside down behind the front door. This supposedly should make them leave, lol.
In all seriousness though, as an introvert who also suffers from social anxiety, I never invite anyone over, so I'm rarely in this situation. Whenever there are guests here at my house, they're not my guests, so I feel free to not give them attention and whatnot and I don't feel guilty about it, nor do I care what they'll think of me. Which is odd, because I usually do care what others think of me, but for some reason it's a bit different when I'm in my territory, I guess 

I second Nielo's recommendation of that book, Quiet. It was very interesting. Could be useful for Jelly's mum too--it clarifies the difference between introvertism and shyness/social anxiety, etc. 
To answer your question, there's probably not much you can do now since they're leaving tomorrow, but for future, maybe try to take extra time for yourself before your guests arrive to sort of give yourself an extra charge, if that makes sense? 
Maybe talk them into doing activities that don't necessarily require socialization--go to a movie or museum, where you won't be expected to actually interact with them constantly. 
And of course, as everyone else has suggested, just let them know the situation! My life has majorly improved since I started being more honest about the level of my social energy, and started telling my friends when I really just didn't feel up to doing something. It's kind of a hard transition at first if they're used to you always agreeing to everything and are unaware of your limits, but they'll adjust eventually!

I've seen a lot of people talk about Ylanas Blaster... I'll definitely look into that one, and the others you listed. I looked for Water Powered Pistol in my SDB since you mentioned it's a DD item, and yay, I have that!

Daily Dare has always been my favourite event, and even though I don't really play Neopets' games during any other time of the year, I'm really good at them (I'd go as far as to say it's the only thing I'm good at in Neopets, actually :P). Besides, every single day we are rewarded with 2 or more items for beating AAA/Abigail/Chadley.
I also love how silly but charming the concept of DD is. This overly arrogant Blumaroo thinks he's the best player in the world and so he challenges every user in Neopets to beat him? Gotta love him
 What I don't like about DD is how since 2013 they haven't really done anything to mix things up. In 2009 they introduced Lulu and the NC component, then in 2010 we had the staff tournament, in 2011 they added bonus prizes, team challenges, and a staff tournament with different rules; and finally, in 2012, we had that whole bug thing which led to Roo Island's redesign. All three Daily Dares that came after that have basically been the exact same in terms of stucture, even if they introduced a new character in 2013 (besides I don't like Chadley unlike most people).
 And probably the thing I dislike the most: just like with every other event, they keep reusing art since 2012. I used to always look forward to every event just to see what new artwork they'd come up with, and was always excited to see how cool the main page of DD would look like. But now the main page has this poorly-sized banner with old artwork and the same logo that was used 5 years ago, and AAA and Abigail are still using Neovian-themed clothing when that was supposed to be a one-time thing and now it just looks out of place. I get why they do this: they are short on staff and resources, and the artists have to focus on prizes rather than new banners and stuff. Still, it makes me a little sad.
 As for GMC, it's just a nice little event that was made so that players have something to do when the staff takes a break due to Thanksgiving. I don't have much to say about it.

Yes, I think it's likely that part of the reason there's been so little new content or fixing of non-critical bugs is that 90% of their programming staff is probably dedicated to completely rewriting everything in HTML5 or something.
I would hope Adobe doesn't allow imitation flash as the reason it's being discontinued is because it is and always has been horribly insecure and an opening for viruses and exploitation.  A less professional attempt at it would be even worse.

If you haven't heard, Adobe will be ending support for Flash in 2020. This means at that that point, your browser will cease to support Flash for security reasons (similar to Windows XP).

Most defenitely items... I have not calculated how much the items in my Safety Deposit Box are worth, but I know for sure that it is more than I have in my bank... which is not much :( I'm awful at saving money on games.

I always choose Haunted Woods cuz I really like the individual characters. I'll thoughtfully read all of the bios as if I'm undecided... then probably go with HW 

I will keep joining Haunted Woods, that is my favorite place in Neopia, so I will stick with them.

I've always been just as obsessed with The Sims franchise, as much as I am with Neopets, so I'm always playing both! I have every game pack for The Sims 4, so I play those. I also have a nintendo 3DS and I've been playing animal crossing which is also an old time favorite.. But really I love all games, I'm always playing something lol

I have tons of games. May of which I haven't played. But these past few weeks it's been mostly Overwatch and Spore for PC, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Wonderboy: The Dragon's Trap for the Nintendo Switch, Flying Dragon for the Nintendo 64 and Spore: Hero Arena (DS game) on my Nintendo 3DS. I don't have Vita, but I do like Vocaloid. :)

I know I'd be tempted to sell all right now, lol. But I also see the sense in selling half now and the rest later if things go up further.

This sounds like me!  I don't like to buy from shops where they have so much advertising that I have to scroll down forever just to get to the actual items.  I also don't like the shops with multiple pages of items.

I do not like Altador Cup much... I like the slushie game, but I do not want to be everyday playing A LOT of times that game... This would be my third year, the first time I got the medal (I wonder why...), the last year I got Rank 1, but because I made the effort to get there, this year... I have to make the math to know how much games I would have to play everyday to get to rank 1... I will try to play all the games 3 times per day, and if I cannot make it with that... then I suppose I have to increase that amount... I'm aiming for rank 1 (to avoid the medal), if I get more than that even better. Who knows... About the team, I always choose Haunted Woods, and that is not going to change for as long as I play this event.
