I'm jealous! I wonder if my basic dislike stemmed from the rather toxic shaming habits of British schools at that point. Far more likely to be told off for not being good enough, rather than encouraged. 😕
Gotta say I enjoyed the volleyball we learnt at my second secondary school, that was what we played on wet days and in the winter, a VAST improvement on the hockey at the first school, I detested that. Mostly because it was only played in the winter; nothing quite like being stuck outside in a little gym skirt and t-shirt, having to run around on rutted and frozen solid mud...
All character-building, right?!
@Angeló saying about basketball reminds me of them trying to teach us that, oh my the confusion that ensued. x'D For girls who'd spent years playing netball, basketball was just so wrong, like: WHAT? You run with the ball?! But that's not allowed! 😮 

We used to do this run, it was kind of exciting as we got to leave the school, oh my gosh!! x'D I shall draw the route for you!

That long bit's along a narrow footpath on the bank of the river - a river that's a foot deep at best and a good pole vaulter could clear with ease - no worries about anyone falling in. x'D The crossed out part before we got back onto that path didn't exist at that point, the bigger bit was a field, and the smaller a little bit of woodland.
Oh and who's ahead of me with guessing what some people thought was a good idea...
Yup, takin' a cheeky shortcut through the allotments? You betcha! And was there a teacher lurking on the far side of 'em? That'd be a yes too.
 
 

Sports day was my favorite day of the year! I loved it! I wasn't extremely good or anything but I just really liked it. In high school I was a decent distance runner because of riding my bike to school every day, even in bad weather. School was 11 km away from home so my overall stamina had gone up decently. I still like doing sports and being active. I did prefer single person sports compared to group things, with the exception of softball and a softer version of rugby. And although I'm pretty competitive I dislike competitions.

hehe I played sports too, sorta, I was excellent at *score keeper*. Grasshopper, I like it!

Played football goalkeeper , handball goalkeeper and basketball
my nickname was "grasshopper" because i was small and fast

I always hated sports day as I was never the fastest runner, and I'm completely non-competitive, the very thought of those two horrors melded into one is making me want to go hide in the girls' toilets.
Are those of you who are not Brits wondering what I'm on about, or are these kind of races held in your country too?
What sports did you do at school? I was universally meh at all sports, apart from tennis, and the javelin, I enjoyed that and was quite good at it.
I like me a nice big pokey stick! 
But they didn't do it at the new school I went to after we moved, so no more of that, just netball and rounders, and like so many girls I don't think I ever managed to hit the ball in rounders...

I opened a handful of the retired caps, got absolute tat and refuse to open any more, so I'm just going to have to make do with what's already in my closet. Although I did go for the gothic gram in the Mall currently...
 

Nice to meet you all! I've played Neopets on and off for ages (although I can't remember the name of my original account sadly!) but I haven't been on these forums before. I'm returning from my latest Neo break and figured it might be nice to join in a bit here. I'm not much of a talker anywhere at the moment but looking forward to joining in when I can 🙂
Mostly I restock, play food club, work on my galleries and zap pets.

The entire day is covered now I SO love how they're all natural/real-looking, not totally unrealistic colours like they did with the grass that time...

I work as a unit aide on the pediatric intensive care unit of a major children's hospital. A unit aide does all the things that you don't think about being done in the hospital - mainly ordering and stocking supplies and reprocessing rooms and equipment between patients; but also assisting with minor patient care tasks, bagging and removing laundry, preparing kits and stocking carts for procedures and emergencies, setting up spaces for procedures and circumstances such as infection isolation, ensuring clean laundry is folded and sufficiently stocked in the right places, general tidying up of the unit, retrieving and borrowing equipment and supplies when it's needed, organizing and maintaining family lounges and fridges, and generally just doing all of the small tasks that need to be done such as fetching water for a patient, setting up an iPad for a child to play on, bringing an extra pillow ...
I'm lucky enough that I'm working my dream job now. I didn't have to go to school, and I love what I do! The only thing I would change is to add more hours, my position is 40% (1-2 12 shifts per week) and I'm hoping for the full time (3-4 12 hour shifts per week) so I can live comfortably.

I get impatient with it after I have spun the wheels while ads are loading so they barely move. I never check if i get a prize, but I do get the comeback tomorrow message.

I see three routes.... one, flash dies, the official set gives up, and fan based sites keep things going for a while.   Two, flash dies, staff comes up with their own version to keep things going, as hosts, artists, writers, and now coders and support.   Or third, everything gets switched over to something other than flash.   Which would be a mess, but if done well could keep things swimming for years, until whatever the new format is becomes outdated and the whole thing starts over again.

So, I saw when I logged, for about the first time in a month, that there was a feature for a faerie quest, and I got approached by the queen, for a very cheap item. I got it, and she bumped my favorite, most battled pet, up 2 levels, which I started panicking, cause I have to reread what you do when your pet is too high level for the ordinary well-known schools, and he has 70 HP now... Eep. I'm not sure I want to do this again. Slow and steady wins the race? Lol. 
I wish I would've read what she was going to do to him beforehand. I'm not sure I like this, it seems like a way to get people more into the game, which of course, is wonderful, but I just don't know how I feel about this. Don't you need a crap load of Red Codestones. Ooh, I just read, sorry, false alarm? If it's a false alarm, why am I paranoid. Welp, this turned out great this time, but I'm not I want to gift the Faerie Queen anymore, though, truly honored to serve the Fae of Neopia!

Hmm, interesting point. But  honestly, interesting for me because it highlights that he's NOT wearing any recognisible insignia from any part of Neopia, is he. ?
 
Maybe he's a wandering knight, roaming the country-side looking for maidens in distress to ravish rescue.
HA! Maybe he's the Neopian version of Lord Flashheart from Blackadder II...
