Hi! I'm Cat and I've been on and off playin neopets since hmm 2007? And I made a return this past July because of a friend and now it seems to have sunk its claws in me again (but thats a good thing). Hopefully I can be more consistent about things. Uh well this has been my introduction of sorts I guess?
Seems like there are plenty of people who've been frequent neopet users but who, like myself, have had long periods of absences which makes me feel better ?

I definitely second this.
Was previously using Garet's bets and although they net a decent payout, it's nice being able to choose from a range of sets with the probabilities available for comparison. Seeing the raw numbers over a scrawl of betting jargon is definitely a plus for me. The thread also uses a really clever script to populate sets into a table so you can just click through them without manually adjusting the dropdown buttons.

Using a healing item in battle sounds like the easiest way, but if you didn't have one equipped and are really stuck, it's possible to train endurance to garner a single hit point.

@Angeló, definitely agree about the No Trade class on wraith items. No idea why the potions are but the ingredients aren't…

Also then, why you can donate the ingredients if you can't trade them . . . all a bit random, isn't it! Though I've not seen any ingredients on the money tree for a while, seems people have learnt the folly of giving them away, lol.
But yeah, I'll be really surprised if a daily cap isn't the compromise that they come up with.
As an aside - I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that the QUEEN is plonked there in a public ward as it were, rather than in a private room (tent) with the Neopian equivalent of armed secret service guards outside, lol.

The issue I have is the inconsistency. First we could farm ecto to our heart's content, and many of us did. Then we were told, no, battling extra doesn't help and some ppl laughed at all the effort we'd gone to and ppl donated ecto to the Money Tree (not me; I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking ::g:;). Then the caps, followed by the vague hint that donating more would get you...something.
 
Now prices are sky-high, everyone's confused, and the slow, repetitive drag of the plot is depressing. We're going to have to do the spinning circles one more time, I know it, and it killed me last time, battle again for the wraith blood, cure 4 pets... It's taking forever and it's not much fun.
 
Sigh. It's had its good moments, but it seems poorly thought out.

I would definitely go with rampaging greatsword. +8 dmg on every attack will be much more useful to you than critical attacks, which only happens randomly. And even with -2, you'll still get critical attacks, they just won't be quite as powerful. 

Have you tried refreshing the page? I have an ok button at the bottom right of mine, so you should too. If it does not start to work I suppose the only thing you can do is either try it on a different computer if possible or on another web browser such as Google Chrome instead of Firefox. That may fix it for you.

There's a cap of 35 for each wraith item, so if you've already gotten 35 claws or 35 ectoplasms, they won't be dropping for you anymore. (I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if it's meant to be like this, but it's definitely annoying.)

Rough. Better luck next time. I've spent too long on my current play-through and am definitely taking the slow and steady approach, just about to reach level 39 and fight The Revenant.
 
Any opinions on which is the better out of these two weapons?

Unequip I prefer Critical Attacks to Stunning Strikes, but am wondering what difference 8 damage makes…

I'm a little skeptical of the Brutes' actual odds, since they have terrible boons and probably not many people want to fight for them. I don't particularly care to fight for them, since even if they win the boons are useless to me. I'll probably go with Seekers. 

I have an aged Mazzew and a Pink Ogrin (not a Krawk, but the Pink avatar is possible). I'd be willing to totally donate the Ogrin and possibly lend out the Mazzew. 

I'm in the same boat, coming back to a bunch of outdated weapons. Got quite a surprise to see some items I'd paid a fair bit for have now been completely outclassed by site feature prizes. @balloongal247 and @jellysundae pointed out some cheap 14 icon constants, which would be an improvement on your 9 icon Garoo Elite Blaster and 11 icon Psellias Fighting Fan. Also like @Duma mentioned, Honey Potion only does slightly more on average than these 14 icon constants would, so it's probably best to let that go.
Another bomb you could look at is the newly released Thistleberry Pingrenade, which averages 18.5 icons for around 300k. Not as powerful as Jhudoras Potion or Ghostkerbomb, but offers much more value. Nothing to critique about that healer and freezer though.

I bet it is not as near in the future as the average Neo-buyer's attention span and that while those items will go up in the short term...they will drop again before the actual CC begins.

Well, I won't be able to use all 77k items for sure but I'm pretty well set for the major groups like books, toys, food and BD and if even one of those is picked I'll be in a better position than I was last time when I went broke gambling, lol.
 
I love my spreadsheet! It was hard work setting it up but now I can update it quickly and it's satisfying to see the r90s grow.
 
I don't consider it inflating when CC happens and items sell for 35k a pop. There's a limited time when they have a value and that's it. Consider 35k their true price and the rest of the year they're DEflated ;-) If there's a drought, a bucket is worthless; it rains soup and hey, it's valuable. CC is soup time. Nerks sell for 60-99k and no one protests even though what you get back off them is normally garbage. It's the potential of a PB that makes them valuable.

TDN Staff has worked hard to compile as much info as possible about the opponents including their prizes. SO many spreadsheets! LOL But we're looking at his equipment. Patched Magic Hat is not a great shield for this opponent. So keep it for another opponent that matches this item's icons better. For a shield similar to Patched Magic Hat, you might consider a Leaf Shield, (the green one) https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/leaf-shield as it will protect you from his a large amount of his water, earth and Physical icons. He seems to have mainly those 3 icons, with an possible exception of Fire icons mainly from his Neutralising Ray. though that is Fire, OR water OR a couple of the other icon types combined.
Also, a MUST is Downsize!  https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/downsize Once per Battle, it reduces ALL damage by 50% for 1 turn. Then  it disappears until the next battle. It's usually pretty cheap, under 10,000np for sure, but I believe it to be around 4,000np presently.
You should also have a healer. At your current HP of 53, you could go cheaper for the short term, with a Lesser Healing Scroll, which can heal up to 25 hp, once per battle.

Balloongal247 gave a great suggestion in getting a Yooyu Knuckle Duster. https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/yooyu-knuckle-duster 14 constant icons for 70,000np is an INSANELY good deal! SOME people have 2. Not me, I just have 1, but STILL! LOL
I'm also going to recommend something for Fire icons. Since the robot has a few fiery weapons too. Flaming Oven Gloves. https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/flaming-oven-gloves They defend 5 Fire and 2 Light icons. Light isn't an issue here, but Blocking Fire might just help if you use it at the right time.
That leaves us with 4 or 3 slots left. 4 if you only get 1 Yooyu Knuckle Duster, or 3 if you buy 2. ;) Of course that's not counting your current 2 pieces of equipment. If you wish to leave Patched Magic Hat and Scroll of Ultranova equipped that's fine, but you won't really need them for this battle.
With the remaining few slots, you can load up on some battle muffins, preferably the 15-icon ones like Dung, Brain, Darigan, Icy etc. You can check out all of the Muffin items here. But the ones I named are cheapest for 15 icons.

To both you and to @juliakare Agility isn't used often, there are a few items that do use it. The main one being the Heavy Robe of Thievery https://items.thedailyneopets.com/items/heavy-robe-of-thievery Which a low intelligence requirement and an agility requirement of 201. This will then defend 2 light icons and steal 1 random weapon from your opponent per battle. However, the last I heard anything, Stealing is currently NOT working in the Battledome. So even if you bought it now while the price might be a bit lower because it's function is glitched, it would be pointless to equip it because it would just be taking up a slot. I thought I would mention it though, given the convo about Agility you guys had.

A bit on Freezers, they are nice, and can be important. However, they are pretty pricey. However for your level a Randomly Firing Freeze Ray, like the Kreludan robot has, would be a good start. Especially since it has a 50% chance of freezing when used. Then it vanishes for the rest of that battle. I JUST checked out the Trading post to see if there were any listed with a price, there are 2 and the asking price for one of those trades is 125k! I recommend trying for that one if you can! 125,000np is a fair amount, but I actually haven't seen them that low before. If you're playing Trudy's Surprise every Day, you should be able to earn more than 30k a day between gaming or whatever else you do to earn NP. :)

Weapons are pretty good, but if you ask me, the REAL way to unlock the power of a weapon, or the abilities of a shield, are best unlocked through training. My set would probably be intermediate, as my strongest multiple use weapon is only 15 icons. But with the maximum strength boost, which you get at 750 strength, is 16. So 15 icons multipled by the boost of 16, gives me a max damage of 240 hp, provided my opponent doesn't block any of it.
Ok, so one more link, Faerie Abilities. Since you are level 29, you should have access to 4 faerie abilities by now. Here is our guide on them. When you get to level 50, learning the Ability Lens Flare is HIGHLY recommended. As it will stun your opponent on the turn it is used. They will not attack or defend and your attack will go uncontested. Here is our guide on the abilities.

I think you're talking about the Tyrannian Sceptre that I use, ones up for trade right now are asking 150k for it. Though it's still available for "free" if people have enough AC prize points left.
