Restocking Tips?

Hi everyone,

I have been playing Neopets for almost seven years now, and I have recently started to use restocking as a way to make Neopoints.

I understand the basics of restocking and have researched the shops, but for some reason I am always too slow when I see something really worth buying. The Toy Shop had stocked something worth 1.6 million neopoints on Jellyneo, and I was lucky enough to see the item get stocked, but by the time I clicked on it, the item had already sold.

Is there any trick to being super fast? Also, are there any times that are better to restock than others? Which are the best shops to restock?

Thank you! :)

I would say restockers learn through... behold the magic word... EXPERIENCE! Pinkpoison you're now ahead of all the other restockers since you'll immediately identify the 1.6 million NP item without the need to shop wizard or jellyneo.

Here are some tips that you may already know but I personally follow for RSing:

- Specialise: Choose a few shops that you want to RS at e.g. Book shop, food shop, toy shop, defence magic. Note the items that are profitable.

- Enjoy the little wins: To me, I personally think that an item that could fetch me a profit of > 1000 is profitable. But that isn't the case for many other restockers. These small profit items will not be snatched as quickly so you can slowly shop wizard it, haggle and reward yourself with a little NP so that RS becomes a little less boring.

- Finger patterns: You'll be able to see the restock price before you go to the haggle page, if it is 1200, place your fingers on 1 and 2. The moment the page loads, click the text box and type 1212 really fast and click on that neopet image. You've done your best, now you see if luck is on your side.

-Be prepared: I carry at least 30k NP with me when restocking, I usually deposit all my items through quick stock before starting. The last thing you want is to not have enough neopoints for your million dollar item, or have a full inventory.

-Using shortcuts: Pressing F5 or clicking the shopkeeper to refresh the shop helps you shave a fraction of a second. To be more time efficient, you can bookmark your 'specialised' shop or remember the shop id so you don't have to navigate as much.

- Be different, be bold: RSing at unpopular places may give you an advantage since there is less competition around, it is good to have a few unpopular shops in your regulars for that chance that you may see something valuable there. RSing isn't always about making money, restockers don't win all the time. I do lose money on bad buys, maybe on some rare item I haven't seen before but is worth less than its restock price. But I have also earned NPs from such buys as well. I would like to tell you that restockers are not all that perfect so it's okay to make mistakes. You'll make up for that loss shooting evil fuzzles for 5 minutes.

Congratulations, I have gotten myself a bit more competition in the restocking world. Please don't forget me once you make it big, if I helped in anyway that is.

This is super good advice if you're kind of trash at RSing, like I am. I've gotten a couple lucky grabs in toys and beauty, but i made a decent amount of money from like, buying cheap tropical fruit and selling it at market value, which seems to tend around 10-15x the in-store price, and stuff like that. People are gonna search shop wiz for any random item, so as long as it'll make some kind of profit, it's worth grabbing, imo, even if it's just a few hundred np.

Maybe in a distant future, I'll be able to sit in magic or stamps and actually grab something great, but in the meanwhile, I'm happy stumbling through the less popular stores occasionally lmao

Don't mention it! I see that you're into Xweetoks too.

I find that the main bookshop is a good place to start as most of the books will fetch some profit (500-2000). But do a quick search on the shop wiz before your purchase (at least 3 refreshes) to be sure! Food and trading cards are good too!
