Do you want an order of sweeps with that?

Welcome to the The Daily Neopets' Daily Report on the Altador Cup! I'm Miko, reporting from TDN HQ. Once again, sorry for being late - I had to take another chapter of the Staff Entrance Exams, and it didn't help that the ACRC suddenly popped up halfway to ask me about my interviews and to check if I had the plague...

Abundant SweepsBut enough about me and my troubles, let's jump back to the Altador Cup! Today was a day of dominations and demolishment, so let's start off at the Alabriss Bracket, where sweeps were being served like slushies. Mystery Island tore apart Haunted Woods handily in the first match of the bracket, leaving the fate of the Zombies very grim. A second last-place round finish seems imminent for Haunted Woods and if they want to be anywhere near the Cup, they need to work overtime.

Victory for Krawk IslandBrightvale continued to stand strong as the Virtupets were once again smashed back to earth. They currently have a chokehold on the lead in the bracket, but Mystery Island and Krawk Island are looking eager to snatch it. And speaking of Krawk Island, the Pirates easily took out Terror Mountain in the last match. The Chillers' performance seems to be waxing and waning randomly, and as I said before consistency is more important in the Cup than once-over performances.

Altador ShiningAnd speaking of consistency, Kreludor of the Minitheus Bracket is another team that is not showing any of that. Despite being one of the best teams of Round 1, the Moons are having trouble staying in orbit. There was a glimmer of hope at yesterday's win (not sweep) against Faerieland, but that glimmer was snuffed out as the Altador Suns eclipsed them, leaving Kreludor on the dark side of hope once more. In the other matches, Faerieland picked up the pieces from yesterday's loss to outplay Shenkuu, winning all games except Make Some Noise, where the dark horse team had an advantage. And things are still looking bad for Maraqua as their fall from first to last continues, this time against Lost Desert.

Rooligans' on a RollIn the Vaeolus Bracket, Tyrannia were as predictable as ever, sweeping Meridell despite resistance from the Knights' side. Darigan Citadel continues to stay in form as they put Moltara's fire out. The Magmas' cooling seems to have no end unfortunately. And Kiko Lake are looking as strong as before, though their loss in Slushie Slinger gave Roo Island's Rooligans some hope. After all, this was the Nearly Unbeatable Team last year, so teams are happy to take a win, however small.

That's all for today, and tomorrow's the last day of Round 2 so stick with TDN for the reports on that. I might be late again, but who knows? Until then this is Miko signing off. Good night Neopia.
